“ . . . and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15 (NIV)
Christ Chapel Christian Education Program
Mission Statement: As a result of Christ Chapel’s Christian Education
Program, people will come to know Jesus as their
personal Savior, grow in their relationship with the
Lord, develop the tools for studying God’s Word,
and be challenged to share the Good News with others.
Policies: The Christian Education Program will reflect the
following principles –
- The curriculum will be based on Scripture.
- Teachers will have a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ and accept without reservation, the Christ Chapel Statement of Faith.
- Opportunities will be provided for students to
respond to the message of the Gospel.
- Teachers are expected to reflect Christian maturity in
their personal lifestyles and walk with the Lord.
- Decisions regarding the selection of curriculum must
be approved by the Pastor and Board of Deacons.
- Class sessions will focus primarily on the “study of
the Bible” rather than upon issues, topics, or books
written about the Bible.
- Teaching will be interactive.
- Class sessions will start and end on time.
- Teachers are encouraged to find their own substitute
when they are unable to teach on a particular Sunday.
- A list of approved substitute teachers is available.
Curriculum: Christ Chapel currently uses the “Bible-In-Life” curriculum from David C Cook publishers for all Sunday School classes including Children’s Church. “Bible-In-Life has been approved by the Pastor and Deacon Board. It is theologically sound with a comprehensive Bible-based emphasis and developmentally appropriate for each age and grade level to foster spiritual growth.
